Introduction
Tariq Ismaeel Sagar, born on 16th October, 1952 in Lahore, Pakistan is a name which does not need any introduction at all. The man who takes his responsibility as novelist, journalist, dramatist and current affairs specialist with iron hands. The icon of both electronic and paper media in Pakistan. The man with an asset of sixty plus books, twenty three drama serials and thousands of articles. He is the one who has given Pakistan film industry the breakthrough script of the movie “Salakhein”. The man who has the firm command over the workings and the networks of world wide intelligence services. The man who is ranked among the best selling novelist of South Asia. His books are sold like hot cakes. People all around the globe wait for his writings. As a matter of fact, many of his books are translated into English for non-Urdu speakers. The man who’s versatility has no parallel. Hundreds of thesis has been written on his writings and services. No doubt, he is the living legend of Pakistan.


Early life & Education
Tariq Ismaeel Sagar is son of Ghulam Gilani, an ordinary government officer at the time of Independence of Pakistan. His ancestors belong to the small town “Qamar pur vehsa in Attock’. He has been brought up in Ravi road an area in Lahore city. He has two sisters and five brothers. He is being the eldest of all of them. He has done his matriculation from Center Model School, Lahore in 1968 and then joined Government College, Lahore in 1970 for intermediate. Later in 1975, he completed his graduation from Punjab University, Lahore.
Professional Career
Tariq Ismaeel Sagar is journalist by profession and has over 30 years of experience of active journalism. He is ex-deputy editor of three leading digests of Pakistan “Monthly Sayara Digest” from 1980-1982, “Monthly Hakayat digest” from 1982 to 1983 and “Monthly Qaumi digest”. He has also served South Asian Affairs and Daily Jung, Lahore, the leading Urdu newspaper of Pakistan from 2000 to 2004 as editor. From 1990 to 1999 he worked as magazine editor of Daily Nawa-i-Waqt, Lahore and then again from 2004 to 2008 continued his job in the same capacity. From 2007 to 2008, he has worked as an anchor person, hosting the program “Cross Examination” on Waqt Tv a news channel, beneficiary of Daily Nawa-i-Waqt.
As a novelist he has written sixty plus books on different topics ranging from thrilling novels to true account of his own life experiences, current affairs to south Asian politics, war strategies to active sub continent politics. He is a master at work. His tales of espionage are second to none. He is Tom Clancy, Robert Ludlum & Alistair Maclean all three in one. The reason why he is the best on this side of the subcontinent when it comes to spy thrillers is that he knows what his talking about because he had gone through it practically. His knowledge of intelligence agencies is second to none. Numerous writers inspired by Sagar’s work have tried to write about these intelligence agencies (often copying his work word for word), however, his books are the only books that have successfully withstood both public and government scrutiny. His writings produce a burning desire in the youth about love for the motherland and to do something for the nation. He is one of the most famous contemporary Urdu fiction writer.
Many students around Pakistan from different Universities like Punjab University, Lahore, International Islamic University, Islamabad, Islamic University, Bahawalpur, Education University, Lahore and many more choose his writings as a topic to write their final year thesis for the completion of their masters degree in relevant subject. He has written more than 5000 articles columns, features, and research articles on different issues. He has an excellent command on Hindi, Gurmukhi, Urdu and English and Hindko language. He is an authority on South Asian political and social affairs and religious affairs and has well command on Sikhism and Hinduism. He has delivered lectures on relevant topics and especially Sikh Movement in USA, UK, and Middle East from 19888 to 1993 on different occasions. He is a visiting lecturer in many universities, colleges and think-tanks in Pakistan as well as abroad such as Punjab University, Lahore, Defence College, Islamabad and Institute of policy Studies, Islamabad. His book “Pak-India relations 1947 to 2006” is recommended text for different relevant departments of Punjab University, Lahore. For his services, he has received more than fifty National and International awards. Owing to his participation in Sikh Movement he has still got many of important documents, letters, speeches and pictures related to that which is seldom available anywhere else. His book “RAW” is published by Services Book Club and a recommended text for cadets of Pakistan army. Five of his books are also translated into English and Gur Mukhi language. From 2007 till now, he has been serving as external examiner mass communication and sets the paper for “Masters in magazine journalism” in Punjab University, Lahore.
Present Workings
Currently, Mr. Sagar is writing columns in Daily Ausaf, an urdu newspaper published from Lahore, London and Frankfurt simultaneously. Besides, he is running his own business of publication known as “Sagar Publications” He has also launched two monthly publications in 2009 one is a current affairs magazine called “Naya Jahan International” and the other is “Sagar Digest” Moreover, he has recently written the script of a new Pakistani film under process of making named “Victim” and couple of his drama serials are in process of making as well. A drama serial named “Roger” is also in the process of production and these days the writer is busy in writing his new book titled as “Mukti Bahini Se operation Blue Star Tak”
